Tameka LaTrice Johnson was born on December 31, 1983 at 10:24 a.m. in Richmond, Virginia to Torita Johnson and Melvin Carter, Sr. She departed this life on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 2:35 p.m., surrounded by her family.
Tameka attended Nottoway High School and graduated in 2001. She loved to cook. She was a lover of kids, although she never had any.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Martha Johnson and her grandfather, Charles Overby.
She leaves to cherish her memories:Â her mother, Torita Johnson;Â her father, Melvin Carter, Sr.; three aunts, Patty Johnson, Martha Johnson and Christie Johnson; one uncle, Vincent Johnson (Dionne); three children at heart, Kalon Bassfield, Jamal Hendricks and Ivy Bush; one brother at heart, Javon Riddick; three great aunts, Julia Harris (Richard), Corine Harris and Emma Johnson; one great uncle, Walter Johnson (Brenda); and a host of cousins and friends.
 Funeral Services Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, Blackstone with interment in the Greenview Cemetery, Blackstone.
