Obituary for Sylvia Delores Cheatham
Sylvia Delores Cheatham departed this life on August 20, 2021 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Blackstone, VA. Sylvia was born September 22, 1946 to the late Samuel and Rena Walton.
Sylvia joined the New Bethel Baptist Church at an early age, where she served as an usher for many years until her health began to fail. Sylvia attended the Prince Edward County School and graduated from R. R. Moton High School. She worked for many years at Stackpole, Inc in Farmville, VA.
Sylvia was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Charles Cheatham for 43 years before his passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, M. Inez Arvin and E. Thelma Peterson, grand -son Bryant, Jr. and great-granddaughter, Vaniyah.
Sylvia leaves to cherish her memories three children: Maxine Lawrence, Crewe, VA; Stephen Walton (Shelia), Chesterfield, VA and Marcus Walton (Amy), Meherrin, VA. Five step-children: Charles (Rhonda), Upper Marlboro, MD.; Bryant, Sr (Yvonnia), West Point, VA; Michael, Keysville, VA; Vikki (Matthew) Drakes Branch, VA and Sherry (Calvin), Scottsville, VA.; Two sisters: Shirley Jennings, Meherrin, VA; & Mabel O. Walton (Clyde), Brooklyn, New York. One brother in-law: Hale Peterson. (23) Grandchildren: Norris (Catina), Wallasha, Rashaad, Rajai, Stevontae, Shavon, Cedrick, Domonic, Jayliah, Praise, Khalil, Jayden, Taylor, Nylah, Carter, Bryante, Fairade, Paris, Diamond, Destiny, Brandy, & Brandon. (9) Great grandchildren: DaJuan, Daijah, Ashon, Harmoni, Faith, Saniyiah, McKenzie and Pharoah. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her phone buddies Zena Walton and Hattie Coleman and her road partner, Earlene Jones.

Funeral Services Friday, August 27, 2021 at 1:00PM at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home, Blackstone. Interment New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Meherrin.
