Obituary for Susie D. Williams
Deaconess Susie Virginia Dagner Williams was called to her heavenly home on Monday, June 8, 2015 at her residence in Blackstone, VA.  She was born June 23, 1920 to the late Cleveland and Cennie Dagner.
She was educated in Nottoway County at what was known as the “Dagner School”.  Deaconess Williams professed her faith in Christ at a young age and became an active and supportive member of the Cellar Creek Baptist Church.  She faithfully served on the Senior Choir, Pastor’s Aid Ministry, Missions Ministry, Deaconess Ministry and the Christian Education Ministry. Deaconess Williams was the “Mother” of the Church.
Deaconess Williams was employed for many years by Clay’s Hatchery of Blackstone, VA.  She enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, and caring for her pets.  Mother Williams was a kind, giving woman who truly loved the Lord.  She was a “doer” of the word...encouraging others and helping them in any way she could.  She always greeted you with a smile.
Deaconess Susie Williams married Lewis S. Williams, who preceded her in death.  To this union three girls were born, Louise; who preceded her in death, Dorothy and Janice Diane.
She leaves to cherish precious and loving memories: two loving and devoted daughters, Dorothy Holmes (George) and Janice Diane Williams of Blackstone, VA; seven grandchildren, Connie Hawkes, William Hawkes Sr., Denise Vaughan, Wayne Hawkes, Tamara Holmes, Beverly Holmes, all of Blackstone, VA and Andre Hawkes of Salem, NJ; ten great grandchildren, Nekeisha Shelton of Petersburg, VA, Catina Walton (Norris), Stephane Hawkes, William Hawkes Jr., Tarnise Vaughan, Genesis Scott, Gabrielle Scott, Michelle Wilson (Wayne) all of Blackstone, VA, Travis Vaughan of Colonial Heights, VA and Shirwilsha Cordell (Antwan) of Farmville, VA; eight great-great grandchildren, DaJuan Walton, Daijah Walton, Daimon Wilson all of Blackstone, VA, Tyra Shelton, David Shelton, Jr. of Cheserfield, VA, Isaiah McMorris, Iyana Cordell and Daitwaine Cordell of Farmville, VA; an adopted grandson, Frazier Evans III of Riverside, CA; an adopted granddaughter, Cornice Foster of Blackstone, VA; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; two devoted and long time friends, Mrs. Ernestine Tucker and Mrs. Virgie H.
