Obituary for Steven Nash
Steven Bryant Nash entered into eternal rest and peace on Thursday, September 2, 2021. He was born on April 25,1968 to the late Wardell and Catherine Nash.

Steve was educated in the Powhatan County Public Schools system and was a member of the graduating Class of 1986. At an early age, Steve gave his life to Christ and joined the Hollywood Baptist Church of Powhatan, VA.

Steve was employed at Johnson Irrigation Services for over 20 years and at the time of his untimely passing he was employed with S & D Landscaping, where he had been employed for seven years. He was a hard worker and loved providing for his family. Steve’s co-workers regarded him as “one of the hardest working men ever” and he “was well respected and liked.” His co-workers have noted that he will never be forgotten, as they credit much of the company’s successes to his efforts.

Steve didn’t require much, just the simple things in life. He truly loved his family. He reveled in spending time in his garage restoring old cars while listening to Rock ‘n’ Roll and Oldies. He took pride and basked in teaching his sons how to take care of vehicles. He appreciated his quiet time, often watched his favorite show Ridiculousness. Everyone Steve knew will immensely miss his laughter and distinctive sense of humor. Steve’s family and friends were blessed beyond measure to spend his last days with him on vacation and grateful for the memories made.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Wardell and Catherine Nash.

Left to cherish Steve’s precious memories are his children: Danitra (Alisha Nickole) Nash, Tyree Nash (Arviet), Rakeem Prosise, Kamaria King, Chanelle Prosise and Marquell Prosise; grandson Anias Nash; long time and special friend, Anissa (known as Buffy): sisters, Sharon Edwards (Thomas), Corrine Owens (John); brothers; Wardell Nash Jr. and Jamar Hatcher (Mary); uncles, Willie Nash, Harold Nash (Gail), and Alvah Mitchell (Linda); aunts, Geraldine Philips and Ernestine Taylor (Roger); great uncle Lee Brown and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Professional services entrusted to Michael W. Hawkes Funeral Home, Amelia, VA.

Public Viewing: Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 1pm - 7pm (The family will be receiving friends from 6pm-7pm) at Michael W. Hawkes Funeral Home, Amelia.
