Obituary for Stanley R. Webb
Stanley Robert Lee Webb, son of Easter Webb and the late James Webb departed this life at his home on November 7, 2009. He was born on March 17, 1952 in Lunenburg County.
Stanley attended Lunenburg County public schools. In May 1998, he received a certificate in Religious Studies and in May 2002, he received a Certificate of Completion for Church Finance. Both certificates were received from Evans-Smith Leadership Training Institute of the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University.
Stanley accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at the young age of ten. He was baptized under the late Reverend R.S. Jackson. He worked faithfully in the church as an Usher, Sunday School Teacher, Trustee and Church Treasurer. He was ordained as Deacon on June 2, 1991. Stanley loved the Lord and he loved New Grove Baptist Church.
Stanley was united in holy matrimony to Mazie E. Campbell on April 10, 1999.
Stanley worked many jobs, Burkeville Veneer Plant in Burkeville, VA Levi Strauss in Blackstone, VA and Virginia Marble in Kenbridge, VA. He realized his dream of being self employed as a hauler-dump truck driver. His business, Webb Hauling Inc., was in operation from 1985 until August 11, 2009 when his health began to fail.
Stanley leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and faithful wife, Mazie of the home; two children, Tracey Ann Webb of Richmond, VA and Stanley Nathaniel Webb, presently in Bagdad; three grandchildren, Khailan Webb of Richmond, VA, Zakarie Mellow of Richmond, VA and Jalijah Webb of Danville, VA; his mother, Easter Webb of Victoria, VA; five sisters, Shirley Epps (Samuel) of Blackstone, VA, Patricia Hurt of Kenbridge, VA, Betty Alexander of Victoria, VA, Rose Webb of Victoria, VA and Valeria Hurt (Cecil) of Chesapeake, VA; three brothers, Lewis Webb of Victoria, VA, James Webb of South Hill, VA and Steve Webb of Petersburg, VA; two aunts, Martha Yeatts of Kenbridge, VA and Sallie Kinloch of Brooklyn, NY; mother-in-law, Alma Tucker of Blackstone, VA; two sisters-in-law, Linda Campbell of Baltimore, MD and Bernice C.
