Obituary for Sherri Jean Vaughan
Sherri Worsham Vaughan was born November 24, 1957, in Amelia, Virginia and departed this life August 4, 2018, in Emporia, Virginia.

Sherri was the youngest child of the late Thomas and Mamie Hawkes Worsham. Sherri was also preceded in death by her sister Vanessa Worsham Coles; husband, Ricky Vaughan; and son-in-law, Michael Worrell.

Sherri joined Manassa Hill Baptist Church at an early age; she later joined Restoration Church where she served as an usher. Sherri also participated with the youth at Cedar Hill Baptist Church where her mother was a member.

Sherri graduated from Amelia County High School in 1976 and continued her education at Virginia State University for two years. Her employment history included Medical College of Virginia Oncology Clinic of Richmond, Washington Neurology Center of Washington, DC, and the Amelia Dress Factory.

Sherri leaves to cherish fond memories: her daughters, Tarsha and Courtney; grandchildren: DeAndre’ of Anchorage, Alaska, Da’Zhon, Desirae, Xavier, Jasmine, and Diamond; and a great grand- daughter, Malaya. She is also survived by two sisters, Mary and Edith of Alexandria, Virginia; four brothers: Thomas of Martinsville, Virginia; Ernest (Katie) of Arlington, Texas; William and Clifton and devoted sister-in-law, Marcia of Amelia, Virginia; brother-in-law, William Coles of Charlotte, North Carolina; one uncle Hugo Worsham of Lillington, North Carolina; two aunts, Louise Worsham of Amelia and Velma Hawkes of Richmond, Virginia; her mother-in-law, Rachel Vaughan of Blackstone, Virginia; brothers-in- law, Michael Vaughan of Bladenboro, North Carolina and Tyrone Vaughan of Blackstone, Virginia, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Service Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Amelia County High School Auditorium. Interment Restoration Memorial Garden, Amelia.
