Obituary for Semmie Scott
Semmie Scott, son of the late Odie Eliezer Scott and the late Eugene Scott was born in Meherrin, Virginia on December 29th, 1937. He entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 20th, 2016.

At an early age, he accepted Christ and joined Macedonia Baptist Church in Keysville, Virginia. Semmie loved to sing, play piano and guitar. He served as musician at the church for many years. He had a love for God and music that he shared with many.

Semmie was educated in the Lunenburg County Public School System in Victoria, Virginia. After his education he was employed at Scovill Manufacturing for 15 years, after that he was employed by Lea Industries for five years. He was well known for his calm demeanor and laugh.

He was united in Holy Matrimony to Dorothy Elizabeth Holmes on December 22, 1967 and from this union two children were born. He was a loving husband, father, father-in- law, grandfather, brother, uncle, confident, and friend.

Semmie was preceded in death by three sisters, Mondecella Batts, Dorothy Booth, and Veatrice Lambert, two brothers August Scott Sr. and Lloyd Scott.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his loving and devoted wife of 48 years; Dorothy Scott; two daughters, Michelle Kirven (Timothy) of Richmond, Virginia; Amanda Wilson (Calvin) of Richmond, Virginia; two grandchildren, Amya' Michelle and Calvin Jeremiah Wilson of Richmond, Virginia; two brothers-in-law Bryant Lambert of Cambria Heights, New York and Melvin Alford of Richmond, Virginia, one sister- in-law; Annie Walker of Richmond, Virginia, his extended Worship and Praise Church Family, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Remains will rest at March Funeral Home, 2110 E. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond on Friday, August 26 after 9:30 a.m., and where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 27 at 12 noon from Worship and Praise Church, 3006 E. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond. Interment Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Keysville, VA.
