Obituary for Sarah Ann Monroe
On Saturday, September 1, 2018 the Lord called Sarah Ann Monroe to her heavenly home. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. Sarah, daughter of the late James Ed and Rosetta Broadnax, she was born in Rockingham County, NC.
Sarah attended school in North Carolina.
Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, John Lee Monroe; brothers Marvin (Rosa), James, William, Henry Thomas, and Frank; and daughter Brenda (Anthony).
She leaves to cherish her memory: one son John Ed (Addie); five daughters Alice (Frank), Margaret, Etta (James), Ruth and Carolyn (Clayton); two brothers Reuben (Gladys) and John (Katherine); one sister Byrdie; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Little Union Baptist Church, Amelia. Interment church cemetery.
