Obituary for Sarah A. Christopher
SARAH ALICE CHRISTOPHER, the youngest daughter of the late Fannie Alice Bland and Creed Boose of Dinwiddie, VA entered this life on September 27, 1917 in Dinwiddie County, VA. The Lord quietly called her home on August 21, 2009.
She was raised in Nottoway County in the Camp Pickett area. She attended grade school there. She was baptized at Birchen Hill Baptist Church of that area.
Sarah was married to Solomon Joshua Christopher in Blackstone, VA, he preceded her in death. From that union they had two children, Alice A. Christopher and the late Gloria E. Thornton.
After moving to Burkeville, she became a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church, Amelia, VA where she attended regularly until her health failed.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Alice A. Christopher of Burkeville, VA; son-in-law, Moses Thornton of Burkeville, VA; brother-in-law, Henry Christopher (Genevive); two sisters-in-law, Catherine Carter (Wendell) and Eva Boose; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at Gravel Hill Baptist Church, Amelia with interment in the Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery, Blackstone.
