Obituary for Samuel T. Booker, III
Samuel Thomas (Sammie) Booker III, son of the late Deacon Samuel T. Booker Jr. and Deaconess Hattie Dean Booker was born January 5, 1946.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, George, Robert, Jacob and Allen Booker Sr.; his nephew Allen Booker Jr.
Sammie received his education at Russell Grove High School in Amelia, VA and graduated with the class of 1967. He confessed a hope in Christ at a young age at Union Branch Baptist Church and continued to be a faithful member.  He served on the Usher Board and attended Sunday School.
Sammie was a very private and quiet person who was always willing to give a helping hand to whomever.  He was the backbone of his family.  He loved all kids, but his nieces and nephews were his pride and joy.  He loved to listen to gospel music, watch baseball and other sports on TV, hunt rabbits and deer.  He was a laid back and low keyed person, always encouraging others.
Sammie may no longer be with us physically, but remember he will always be with us in both spirit and memory.  Sammie will live in our hearts and minds forever.  We are so fortunate to have had him our lives and will feel empty without him.
Sammie was called home on December 18, 2015 to be with his Lord and Savior.  He leaves his legacy and memories to his devoted brother, Edward W. Booker, James (Dorothy) Booker and adopted brother Charles (Cherry) James Sr.; sister-in-law, Sally Leh Booker; aunt, Deaconess Rebecca D. Wood; nieces, Fonda and Sherilyn Booker, Ishima B. Thomas and Angela B. Harris; nephews, Timothy Sr., Charles Jr,. Lamont Sr., and Nicholas James; great nieces, Rychelle and Anshae Harris and Jayda Booker; great nephews, Stanquan Pittman, Jordan, and James Booker, Javonte Ford, Rykia Harris, Timothy Jr. and Lamont James Jr.; devoted cousins, Eva Anderson, Jocelyn Thompkins and Sylvia Patrick.
