Obituary for Sam Henry Broadnax
On Friday, August 17, 2018, the Lord called Sam Henry Broadnax to his heavenly home. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. “Rocky” as he was known, was born to the late Henry Thomas and Rosa Margaret Broadnax in Amelia, County, VA. He was preceded in death by a brother Eddie Thomas Broadnax and sisters Elsie Mae and Virginia Ann Broadnax.
“Rocky” was educated in Amelia County Public Schools. He spent his early life there before moving to Richmond, VA.
Before retiring in December, 2016 he was employed at ABM Janitorial Services. “Rocky” was well known and a joy to all that knew him. He will be missed by many.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted friend Linda M. Reavis; two sons Corey Archer (Erica) of Chesterfield, VA and Darryl Archer of Amelia, VA; three daughters, Samantha and Danielle Gooden of N. Chesterfield, VA and Tiffany Archer of Richmond, VA; two sisters Loraine Broadnax of N. Chesterfield, VA and Rosetta of Amelia, VA; a brother Robert L. Broadnax of Petersburg, VA; six grandchildren Iylahna, Desirae, Corrianna, Destiny, Kenan and Jeremiah; devoted niece Racell Broadnax; devoted friend James “Jimmy” Jefferson; other nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Services Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Amelia County High School, Amelia. Interment Little Union Baptist Church, Amelia.
