Sadie Louise Lucas was called to heaven to rest with God in eternity on Friday, October 30, 2015 while in the comfort of her home in Nottoway, Virginia.Â
Sadie was born on August 3, 1935 to the late Mary Lindsay and the late William Anderson in Blackstone, Virginia. Her two siblings, Catherine Anderson and Woodrow Johnson, preceded her in death.
Sadie was united in holy matrimony to William Mack Lucas in June 1965. This union brought forth four children who were nurtured and flourished underneath their parents’ attentive loving care.
Her love, memories and kind-hearted spirit will be cherished by her husband, William, of fifty years; her children, Shirley Lucas, of Blackstone, VA; Reginald Lucas, of Washington, DC; W. Leon Lucas (Wanda), of Columbus, GA;Â and Mary Lucas Smith (Gary), of Fayetteville, GA; her grandchildren, LeShawn Bell, of Blackstone, VA; Keona Wright of Crewe, VA, Tiara Robinson (Nicholas), of Wahiawa, HI; Patrice Watts (Latavius), of Columbus, GA; Patrick Pearson, of Columbus, GA; Jireh Lucas, of Columbus, GA; Gary Smith, of Fayetteville, GA and Ryan Smith, of Fayetteville, GA; along with a host of great-grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and life-long friends.Â
Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy. Sadie is now at rest in the loving arms of God. Take comfort in knowing that she is at peace. Â
