On Sunday, June 18, 2023, the life of Roy Lonell Williams unfold the first chapter in the book of his life - as he advanced from sweet labor to everlasting reward.
Roy was born February 10, 1955 in Nottoway County to Frank Lee Williams and Pauline Lee Williams.
Roy attended Nottoway County Public Schools. He was fondly known by the nickname “Johnboy”. He accepted Christ at a young age and joined the Fourth Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Crewe, VA. Roy worked at Simmons Monument Company for many years.
Roy is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Pauline Williams; sisters Mary Alice Coleman, Okema Williams, Flossie Williams; brother Arthur Lee Williams; nephews, Marvin Barbour, Darrin Coleman and Shawn Palmer. He leaves to cherish his memory: two sons Chacoby Williams Sr. (Danielle) of Crewe, VA and Rodriquez Williams; two brothers Reverend Larry Williams (Nancy) of Jetersville, VA and Steve Palmer of Rice, VA; three uncles Odell Lee, Rufus and Michael Lee O Richmond, VA; two aunts Eva Hurt (Stewart) and Alice Conley of Richmond, VA; four grandkids Destinee’ Jenkins of Lynchburg, VA, Chacoby Williams Jr. of Crewe, VA, Gaven Benjamin of Detroit, MI, and Raqwan Brooks of Richmond, VA; one great grandson S’Kani Jenkins of Lynchburg, VA; nephews Byron Williams of Clarksville, TN, Macus Barbour of Honolulu, HI, Maroln Barbour of South Boston, VA and Anthony Robertson of South Hill, VA; nieces, Tara Robertson of South Hill, VA, Okema Williams of Atlanta, GA and Serena Steele of Farmville, VA; and a host of cousins and dear friends.

Funeral Service Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 12:00 Noon at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home, Blackstone.
Interment High Rock Baptist Church Cemetery, Rice.
