Obituary for Roy E. Wilson
Roy Edward Wilson, a.k.a “Maine” and “Slim,” 51, of Amelia, departed this life Thursday, May 6, 2021. He was born on February 4, 1970 to Janet Wilson and the late Roy Jackson. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Laura Wilson and paternal grandparents Edward and Mary Jackson. He was educated in Amelia County Public Schools. He had a great love for his family and friends. He embodied a gentle and infectious smile and laugh. He would always do and say things that would make everyone laugh. Some of his favorite statements were, “One thing for certain, two things for sure… .,” “Games I do not Play” and “Make it do what it do”. He was and is loved by all and he will be greatly missed. Roy leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted mother, Janet Wilson Crawley; one loving sister, Santana Wilson; one loving brother, Kevin Tucker (Bobbie); bonus Mom, Sandra Jones; two uncles, James Wilson (Janet) and Tyrone Wilson (Mary); six aunts, Shirley Jackson, Gloria Wilson, Sally Davis (George) Laura Martin (Lon), Linda Martin (Charles) and Margie Brooks; seven nieces and nephews, Kevin Tucker Jr, Christopher Tucker, Kiana Tucker, Jakobi Tucker, Jakayla Tucker, Caitlin Rogers and Bryce Rogers. A host of cousins, relatives and friends including devoted cousins Lonnie Jackson and Georgia Davis.
Public viewing will be held Wednesday, May 12, 2021 from 12 to 7 PM
A private family celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Michael Hawkes Funeral Home in Amelia. Interment private.
