Obituary for Rosetta McBride
On July 15, 2014 God was in search of a unique blossom to enhance his flower garden. He dispatched an angel to especially choose a radiant rose by the name of Rosetta McBride for his garden. Rosetta McBride “Zetta”, daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth Walls, was born October 21, 1956 in New York.
Rosetta was educated in the New York City Public Schools and graduated from Adelphi University with honors and a degree in Business Administration. She spent her working career at Morgan Stanley, where she was a director in Human Resources. She retired from Morgan Stanley in 2007.
Rosetta was preceded in death by her brother, John T. Johnson, Jr. and her loving mother-in-law, Geneva E. McBride.
Rosetta will forever remain in the hearts of her loving husband Thomas McBride; daughter, Sharetta McBride; three step children, Sally, Cliff, and Calvin; sisters, Reverend Dr. Mary Johnson-Mills, Pauline Walls-Mays (Daryl); brother, Reverend Edward Walls, Jr. (Shelia); sisters-in-law, Catherine Ross, Betty Funchess, Francis Nelson and Helen McBride, all of New York; brothers-in-law, Sammie Sharper and Eugene McBride, both of South Carolina; three devoted nieces, Shante Myers, Roni Carrington and Deadra Grahm-Davis; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and a very special friend, Donna Dunbar (Larry).
Rosetta was very devoted to her entire family and always made herself available to care for her family. She was a loving and selfless mother and wife. She is dearly loved, and leaves an emptiness in our hearts, which we know God will heal in time.
