Obituary for Rosetta J. Booker
Mrs. Rosetta J. Booker went home to be with the Lord at 6:55 p.m. on November 17, 2011 at her residence in Burkeville, VA.  Daughter of the late Elizabeth Johnson and West Bland she was born August 20, 1926 in Amelia County, VA.
She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Amelia Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her health failed.  She loved God with all her heart.  Her favorite saying was “I’m on the battlefield for my Lord”.  She was educated at Broad Street School in Amelia County, VA. 
She worked at Holly Farms and retired after seventeen years of service. 
On June 5, 1946 she joined in holy matrimony to Willie Lee Booker, Sr., who preceded her in death. To this union nine children were born, two of whom preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memories:  two daughters, Edith B. Craft (Reggie) and Rosalean Booker, both of Burkeville, VA; five sons, Charles (Vernita) Booker of Yonkers, NY, James (Rosetta), Freddie Sr. (Charlene), Willie Jr. and Harvey Booker, all of Burkeville, VA; one sister Beatrice (Robert) Miller of Amelia, VA; two brothers, James Johnson of Amelia, VA and Willie Johnson of Richmond, VA; ten grandchildren, Charleszetta (Ernest) Santos, Credenza (Diane) Booker, Troy, Nikki, Freddie Jr., Corbin, Regis, Harvey Jr., Shante’ and Riana; six great grandchildren, Kamala, De’Quan, De’Shawn, Savannah, Janae and Shareeffe; one great-great grandchild, Ayden; six step grandchildren, Benjamin, Ralph, David, Donald, Frank and William Craft; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Gravel Hill Baptist Church, Jetersville with interment in the Craft Family Cemetery, Burkeville.
