Obituary for Rosetta C. Booker
Rosetta Craft Booker, daughter of the late Jessie Harris and Edna Rice, was born on June 11, 1944 in Amelia County, Virginia. She departed this life and gently and peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 18, 2016, at 1:45 p.m. at Johnston Willis Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.
She accepted Christ as her personal savior and was baptized and joined High Rock Baptist Church in Rice, Virginia at an early age. Later in her adult life, Rosetta joined Gravel Hill Baptist Church in Rice, Virginia with her husband, James Booker.
Rosetta attended Prince Edward and Amelia County schools. She worked for Tyson, Amelia Nursing Center and served as a volunteer EMT for Nottoway Rescue Squad.
Rosetta had one daughter, Edna Craft, who preceded her in death, and she is survived by her loving and devoted husband, James Booker of 30 years of marriage, and six sons: Benjamin Craft of Winston Salem, North Carolina, Ralph Craft of Crewe, Virginia, David Craft of Charlotte, North Carolina, Donald Craft of Drakes Branch, Virginia, Franklin Craft of Burkeville, Virginia, and Daniel William Craft of Burkeville, Virginia; five grandchildren: Dr. Brittany Clinton, Danielle Craft, David Craft, Jr., Jasmine Craft, and Dale Craft: and three great-grandchildren: Jarrod Simmons, Jarrell Simmons, and Jayden Jones. Rosetta is also survived by four sisters: Elizabeth Bland of Rice, Virginia, Daisy Lipscomb (Jacob) of Crewe, Virginia, Shirley Harriston of Washington, DC,  and Wednesday Alexander-Palacios of California; three brothers: Calvin Rice of Rice, Virginia, Samuel Rice (Cora) of Rice, Virginia, and Jessie Harris (Alana) of Maryland; two sisters-in-law: Edith Craft and Rosalean Booker: and three brothers-in-law: Charles Booker (Vernita),  Freddie Booker (Charlene), and Willie Booker, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at Michael W. Hawkes Funeral Home, Amelia with interment in the Craft Family Cemetery, Burkeville.
