Obituary for Rose C. Vessels
On Wednesday, August 4, 2021, Rose Coleman Gordon Vessels departed into eternal rest at her home, surrounded by family. She was born on December 10, 1935 to Albert and Laura Coleman.
At an early age, she accepted Christ and joined Ebenezer Baptist Church. She attended Jetersville School and went on to receive her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree at Piedmont Sanatorium, now renamed Piedmont Geriatric in Burkeville, VA.
Rose had a passion for baking, gardening and shopping. She loved to collect butterflies.
Rose married the late Clyde D. Gordon, Sr., and had four children: Marline Gordon, Rose Thompson, Clyde (Judy) Gordon and Gail (Tim) Pegram.
She was the third of eight siblings, with three now deceased. She is survived by Ann Adams, Rufus (Elnora) Coleman, Harry (Maxine) Coleman and sisters in-law, Julia Coleman and Lucy Gordon.
She leaves to cherish her grandchildren: Kimberly Thompson, Regina Thompson, Derrick (Selena) Coles, Danielle Coles, Naomi Gordon, Brandon Gordon, Byron Gordon, Travis (Grace) Pegram and Troy Pegram; great grand Children, Gennifer Thompson, Sha’Niyah Coles, Derrick Coles, Jr., Kalani Gordon Gilbert, Matthew Pegram, Kourtni Thompson, Andrew Weekes Jr., Gianna Pegram, Michael Pegram, Aulani Rose Gordon, Jeremiah Gordon, Malachi Coles, and Madison Coles; a host of nieces and nephews.
