Obituary for Rose A Paige
Rose Mary Allen Paige was called from labor to reward peacefully on June 22, 2020 at 12:13pm after a strong fight with cancer.

Rose Mary Allen was born on August 3, 1951 in Crewe, Virginia to the late Arlene Allen Motley and the late John E. Dickson. Rose had a wealth of family who were instrumental in her rearing, among them are her step-father, James Motley and her step-mother, Sallie Dickson and her many aunts that loved her dearly. They were waiting in heaven to receive her.

Rose was educated in Nottoway County and graduated in 1970 from Luther H. Foster High School. She attended SVCC where she earned her Associates Degree and attended VA Tech University.

Rose married her beloved Curtis Paige, Sr. on August 22, 1970 and to this union they were blessed with three children. Rose was a dedicated wife and mother who took pride in caring for her family. She had a unique way of providing and loved feeding them home cooked meals. On May 9, 2010, Rose lost the love of her life.

Rose was baptized and joined the Eleven Oaks Baptist Church Rose became very active and had a zest for learning God’s Word. Her strong faith in God is what kept her. Rose serves as the Chairperson of the Trustee Ministry, Assistant Superintendent of the Sunday School, Sunday School Teacher, Tax Consultant, Missionary and is a former Treasurer and Pastor’s Aide Ministry member.

Rose worked at several places to include Levi’s, Virginia State University and H&R Block prior to starting her own business, Rose’s Bookkeeping & Tax Service, which she ran for 43 years. Rose had a passion for her customers and provided quality service even as her health declined.

Rose was a member of the Luther H. Foster Alumni and served as Class of 1970 representative. Rose loved cooking, crafting, collecting antiques and listening to Gospel music. Taking care of Curtis was her life after he became disabled.

Rose’s legacy will be cherished by her daughter, Melissa Nikki Paige (Lionel); 2 sons, Curtis Paige, Jr. (Terri) and Torrey Paige; her grandchildren, Kahleeb, Regis, Layla, Keshawn, Dazjon, Diamond, Jawill, Jeanisha, Jordan, Makayla, and Janiyah; 4 brothers, William (Linda), John, Jr., Preston (Cheryl) and Raymond (Mary) Dickson; 3 sisters-in-law, Gertrude Payne, Lillie Diggs (Glendon) and Shelia Rich; brother-in-law, Rudolph Paige (Sonji); aunt, Mattie Seay (Richard); 4 uncles, Wesley, Roosevelt, Wilbur and Daniel and a host of step-aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
