Obituary for Rosa Marie Wells
ROSA MARIE WELLS, departed this life on December 3, 2008 at her daughter’s home in Richmond, VA. She was born July 28, 1922 to the union of John and Rosa Vaughan in Nottoway County.
She was educated in the Nottoway County public schools. She joined New Poplar Mt. Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Reverend J.B. Rather where she was a faithful member. Later in life she joined the Lion of Judah Church in Blackstone, VA under the leadership of Pastor Jeffrey Myers.
She was joined in holy matrimony to George W. Wells. Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son George, Jr., and one daughter, Margretta.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Gloria Hill (Frank), Antionette (Ted), Garland (Jackie) and Patricia; a daughter-in-law, Shirley; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Alma Tucker and Mazie Wells; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Sunday, December 7, 2008 at 12:00 noon at Lion of Judah Church, Blackstone with interment in the Vaughan Family Cemetery, Crewe.
