Obituary for Rosa M. Chaffin
God’s grace and mercy was strongly bestowed upon Rosa Chaffin in the evening of July 24, 2018 at 8:35 pm when she departed this life in the comfort of her home.
Rosa, daughter of the late Myrtis Doswell and Horace Eppes was born on January 30, 1947 in Crewe, VA. She attended the public school system of Nottoway County and Baltimore School System where she met and married the love of her life Eugene Chaffin. She is preceded in death by sisters, Fannie Harrison of Baltimore, MD, Marie McBride of Washington, DC, Ethel Pinkard Eppes of Danville, VA and Dorothy Eppes of VA; brothers, James Eppes of Crewe, VA and Willie Eppes of NJ.
Rosa loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She loved doing crossword puzzles and reading the Bible. Rosa joined the Greater Remnant Church of God in Christ in Gwynn Oak, MD. She loved the Lord and accepted him at an early age.
Rosa regularly attended church and loved to sing in the choir. She worked as Social Caregiver with the Department of Social Services and the State of Maryland until she retired in 2000.
Rosa leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband, Eugene Chaffin, Sr.; three sons, Chuck Eppes, Eugene (Eryca) Chaffin, Jr. and Kevin Learoyal (Erica) Chaffin; three sisters, Jennie (George) Fitzgerald of Baltimore, MD, Ernestine Eppes and Shirley Eppes of Crewe, VA; two brothers, Paul Eppes of Baltimore, MD and Edward Eppes of Crewe, VA; and a host of grandchildren nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 10:30 am at Union Baptist Church, Crewe. Interment Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.
