Obituary for Rosa M. Barbour
Rosa Mae Barbour departed this life on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Retreat Hospital in Richmond, VA. Daughter of the late William Sr. and Mary Fowlkes Fitzgerald, she was born May 4, 1962 in Nottoway County.
Rosa was educated in the Nottoway County school system and graduated from Nottoway Senior High School in 1982. She joined New Bethel Baptist Church at an early age.
Rosa worked at Weston’s Restaurant in Crewe for twenty plus years, until she became ill in 2008. Rosa was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a good friend to all who knew her. She was a well known cook and would do anything for anyone. Rosa was well loved and will be missed by many.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Junious Maurice Barbour Sr. on July 25, 1988.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted husband, Junious Barbour Sr.; mother-in-law, Theresa Casper; four children, Junious Jr., Stephanie, Rosa and Jeffrey Barbour; two grandchildren, Izahia Townsend and La’Nya Pryor; two sisters, Priscilla Pitts (Reginald) and Etta Fitzgerald; one brother, William Fitzgerald Jr.; five sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law, Shelia Stokes (Joseph), Darlene Pride (Phillip), April Brown (Nelson), Inita Howard (Thomas), Andrel Barbour, Eric Barbour (Twila), Raymond Barbour and Everett Barbour; devoted friends, Katina Neal, Shirley Fowlkes, Viola Towler, Veronica Rowe and Mary Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Crewe wit interment in the church cemetery.
