Obituary for Rosa L. Ward
ROSA LEE ROYALL WARD went to be with the Lord on February 12, 2010. She was born on February 14, 1932 in Amelia, VA to Pinkie B. Royall and the late Nelson S. Royall.
She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Rufus Ward; a sister, Doris R. Carter and a brother, Walter N. Royall.
Rosa attended school in Amelia County. She was a member of Bethia Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.
She relocated to New York city where she worked as a Nurse’s Assistant at Beth Israel Hospital for many years. Rosa and her husband returned to Amelia County where they were both employed by the Amelia County School System from which they both retired.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Pinkie B. Royall; two brothers, Rudolph Royall of Richmond, VA and Henry Royall of Port St. Lucie, FL; three sisters, Catherine Townes, Lucy Palmer (William) and Annie Morton, all of Amelia, VA; two sisters-in-law, Blanche Giles of Amelia and Dorothy Quarles of Washington, DC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Bethia Baptist Church, Amelia with interment in the Big Oak Cemetery, Amelia.
