Obituary for Rosa L. Bagley
Rosa Lee Bagley was born in Crewe, VA on November 3, 1921 to Mr. and Mrs. John Tuggle. Her many siblings included Earl, John, Lewis, Fannie and Eloise. Also, a part of her family were Robert and Nelson.
She graduated from high school in Crewe, VA. After school she moved to Newport News, VA where she and her husband, James Wesley Bagley gave birth to their daughter, Paula Marie. Shortly after, they moved to New York City. There she gave birth to two sons, James Wesley and Ronald Gerard. While in NY she worked as a homemaker and in the garment industry.
Rosa joined the Mariners Temple Baptist Church in Manhattan, NY where she was a member of the Women's Missionary Society. She also taught Sunday School and sang on the choir.
After raising her three children she moved back to Crewe, VA to help take care of her ailing father. She worked on several jobs as a caretaker. She was an active member of Eleven Oaks Baptist Church. She enjoyed praising the Lord and serving in any capacity she could.
She was the personification of friendship. She knew how to make new friends and keep old friends.
She was preceded in death by all her siblings and a grandson. Rosa leaves to cherish loving memories: one daughter, Paula Marie Dixon of Summerville, SC, James Wesley Bagley of Middlesex, NC and Ronald Gerard Bagley of Conyers, GA ; ten grands, April, Arnelle, Audrain, Damien, Darien, Antoinette, Jennifer, Keisha, Veronica nd Audra; and from these unions there were twenty-one great grandchildren.
Funeral Services Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Eleven Oaks Baptist Church, Crewe. Interment Tuggle Family Cemetery, Crewe.
