Obituary for Ronnie Edmonds
Brother Ronnie Edmonds, our loved one entered into eternal rest at MCV Hospital on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. Ronnie was born to the late Berta Farrar on February 22, 1950 in Jetersville, VA and later was lovingly adopted by the late Roger and Pauline Edmonds. After his adopted father passed away, he grew under the guardianship of his late stepfather, Mack Campbell.
He was educated in the Brunswick County schools. Ronnie accepted Jesus Christ as his savior at an early age at White Rock A.M.E. Zion Church and later joined Little Mount Baptist Church, both of Brunswick County. At Little Mount he was a faithful member of the usher's ministry, the trustee ministry, and the male choir. Ronnie worked diligently in each ministry until his health begin to fail.
He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Emma Jean Booth on August 19, 1974. To this union three children were born.
Ronnie was employed by various companies during his working years. He was a heavy equipment operator and a truck driver for many years.
Brother Ronnie loved to hunt, fish, tell jokes and play pranks on his friends.  Anyone who was in his presence for any length of time would find him telling a story.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Emma; three sons, Ronnie, Jr. (Yolanda), William (Dawn), and Antonio (Lisa); ten grandchildren; five brothers, Rubin Farrar of NY; James and Walter Farrar of Baltimore, Butch Campbell (Lavern), and Floyd Campbell; one sister, Theresa Scott; three aunts; one uncle; one sister-in-law, Anna B. Wilson (Bernett); one brother-in-law, Albert Booth (Dora); a devoted cousin, Christine Edmonds; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Edmonds will be held Sunday, January 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Little Mount Baptist Church, Blackstone with interment in the church cemetery.

W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home of Blackstone in charge of arrangements.
