Obituary for Ronnie C. Jones, Sr.
Ronnie Jones, Sr. departed this life on September 14, 2014 at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, VA at the age of 55. He was born on May 12, 1959 to Mildred and David Jones.
Ronnie received his education in the public schools of Lunenburg County. At a young age he accepted Christ in his life and joined West Hill Baptist Church, Victoria, VA.
Ronnie was a hard working man that loved his family. As a young boy he started working at KenLea Craft in Kenbridge, and worked for many years until it closed. He was later employed by Reiss Manufacturing in Blackstone and worked there for eight years. For the past ten years he was employed at Walmart Distribution in Dinwiddie.
On June 29, 2002 Ronnie married Nel Gilliam.
Ronnie leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Nel; his children, Ronnie Jr. and Shannon of Victoria, Kennisha White of Petersburg, Kabree of Victoria, VA, Raheem, De’Sonte and De’Ronte of Blackstone; eight grandchildren, Ron’Darius, Jalik, Tre’Ron, Tawanna, Kaelyn, Aleeyah, Jayla, and Jameeria; his mother, Mildred (Edward Dix); father, David; two brothers, Raleigh (Brenda) and Eric (Nancy); two sisters, Audrey (Darrell) and Valerie; grandparents, Cora Winn and Otelia Jones; sisters-in-law, Arlene of Blackstone, Evelyn of New Jersey and Marilyn of Richmond; brothers-in-law, Ronnie of Blackstone and Elwood of Richmond; devoted friends, Charlie, Roselyn, Sylvia, Doug and the Walmart Distribution and Shipping A1; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at West Hill Baptist Church, Victoria with burial to follow in the Crowder Family Cemetery, Kenbridge.
