Obituary for Robert Williams
Robert Williams was born on March 16, 1939 in Chesterfield, Virginia. He was the 11th child of 17 born to the late Spencer Williams and Cecelia Gates Williams. He was preceded in death by 11 of his siblings.

Robert was educated in the Chesterfield County School system. He confessed Christ as his Savior and joined the Beulah Baptist Church, Moseley, Virginia at an early age; and later moved his membership to Tabernacle Baptist Church after marriage.

Robert was joined in holy matrimony to Viola Crawley on April 13, 1963. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. From this union Robert and Viola were blessed with two daughters, Lois and Matilda.
Robert worked in the construction industry for many years doing masonry work. He later retired from the Chesterfield County School system as a custodial engineer. Robert was a happy man who enjoyed life. He loved fishing, hunting, playing horseshoes, and working in his yard. He loved fellowshipping with family and friends and spending time with his grandchildren.
Robert entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at home surrounded by his wife and daughters. He leaves to celebrate his life and cherish his memory his devoted wife, Viola Crawley Williams; two daughters, Lois D. Pollard (Carlton) and Matilda Williams; one son, Phillip Haskins (Bridget) of Texas; 7 grandchildren; 4 sisters, Dorothy Williams, Cecelia Horne, Shirley Brown (Claude), Caroline Williams; 1 brother, Louis Williams; 1 sister-in-law, Clara Bailey; devoted friend, Flossie Crawley, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Â
Funeral services for Mr. Robert Williams will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Chesterfield, VA with Rev. Norwood Carson, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
