Obituary for Robert E. Henderson, Sr.
Robert Edward Henderson Sr. also known as “Robbace” or “Robbie”, son of the late Charles Henderson Sr. and Cora Lee Henderson entered Heaven on July 2, 2019 after a severe illness. There he meets his parents, his oldest sister Dorothy (Dottie), his son Derek and other loved ones. Robert joined and was baptized at an early age at Second Antioch Baptist Church.
Robert attended Powhatan County Public Schools all his life. He graduated from Powhatan High School in 1973. While in high school, he was very athletic. He played basketball, baseball, and many other sports. In fact, in his senior year, he led the basketball team to the state championship. After graduation, he attended Saint Paul’s College. After a short period of time, he decided to join the army. But, due to the start of his health failure, he concluded to retire after sixteen years of service. In contrast to his health status, he continued to live on and marry the love of his life, Amy. With this marriage, two kids were united Alexia and Jayla. Then, he started a new career at Wes Worsham Fire Protection. However, when his health started to decline once again, he retired from there where he served for seventeen years.
Robbie was such a happy person, always full of energy and loved all his friends and family. He loved to laugh and dance with others even strangers or people from around the neighborhood.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a fully devoted wife Amy and two daughters Alexia and Jayla; three sons: Robert Jr., Marcus, and Brian; two sisters: Deborah (Aubrey) and Jacqueline (Melvin); One brother Charles (Loretta); One aunt: Edna Johnson; One Sister in Law: Leisa (Eddie);Two nieces: Latetra and Chavonne; four nephews: Devron, Anthony (Danjile), Shawn, and Brandon (Tiffany); Five grandchildren: Marcus, Ja’Nya, Kennedy, Skylar and Sincere; Six great nieces: Arianna, Paris, Ashlynn, Ny’iana, Brailynn, and Kiandra; One great nephew: Anthony Jr. Also, a host of cousins and other family members.
Funeral Services Saturday, July 6, at 1:00 p.m. at Second Antioch Baptist Church, 1059 Dorset Rd., Powhatan, VA 23139. Interment church cemetery.
