Robert Edwin Gregory, Jr., son of Lucy V. Smith and the late Robert E. Gregory, Sr. was born September 13, 1945. He departed this life on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Ashland Convalescent Center, Ashland, VA.
Robert was educated in the Nottoway County public schools.
Robert joined the United States Navy, from which he received an Honorable Discharge.  While serving in the Navy he received his GED
Robert leaves to cherish his memory:Â his mother Lucy V. Smith; son Ronnie (Trayvia) Watson of Arlington, VA; daughter Kimberly (DeWayne) Butler of Jurupa Valley, CA; nine grandchildren, Samantha, Ronnie, Jr., Montel, Tabitha, Kameron, Adrienne, Alan, Amber and Kendra; thirteen great grandchildren; his siblings, James A. Smith III of Lynchburg, William Gregory of Blackstone, VA, Linda Keyes of Lynchburg, VA, Shirley (Cobb) Hatchett of Blackstone, VA, Rosa Smith of Lynchburg, VA, Gloria Smith of Lynchburg, VA, Barbara Smith of Altavista, VA and Mary Gregory of Blackstone, VA; other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home, Blackstone.
Burial will be Monday, December 14, 2015 at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia.
