Obituary for Robert E. Carroll
Mr. Robert Earl "Chico" Carroll, son of the late Prudence Bates Carroll was born September 2, 1951 in Richmond, VA. On Tuesday, August 16, 2011, death angels gently closed his eyes and took him to his heavenly home.
Robert attended Pocahontas School in Powhatan County. He accepted Christ as a young man and joined First Antioch Baptist Church. Robert was a Truck Driver and Heavy Equipment Operator for many years until his health failed. He was better known by his CB handle "Gas Man".
Robert was preceded in death by a son Timothty V. Jackson and a sister Diane Nash. He leaves to cherish his memories a son Jerome Sims; a daughter Kyra LaMar (Antoine) both of Richmond, VA; a brother Henry (Carolyn) of Powhatan, VA; five grandchildren, DeAngelo Jackson, Brianna Sims, Timothy Jackson, Jr., Christian Jackson and Marcus Lamar; devoted companion of fifteen years Shirley Patrick; a godson Amari Jones; a brother-in-law Horold Nash; devoted friends, William "Fat Albert" Bates, Shirley Bates, Thelma Carroll, Richard "Bug" Clarke, Dorothy "Tiny" Mills, Mr. & Mrs. Franklin Jones, Tommy Tyler; and a host ofother relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 22, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at First Antioch Baptist Church, Powhatan with interment in the church cemetery.
