Robert "Bob" Douglas entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 31, 2008 at his home in Crewe, VA. he was born in Nottoway County, VA on September 25, 1923. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Douglas and Mattie Jones; two brothers, Troy and Walter Douglas; two sisters, Sarah Smith and Julia Brown.
Robert received his education in the Nottoway County School system. He served several years in the United States Army.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and devoted wife of seventeen years, Viola Douglas of Crewe, VA; one son, Michael Yates of Capron, VA; one daughter, Darlene Terrell of Washington, DC; two step children, Tina Woodley and William Foster of Crewe, VA; two grandsons, Antwon Yates of Petersburg, VA and Dominique Terrell of Washington, DC; one granddaughter, Sharay Scott of Blackstone, VA; five step granddaughter, Tremayne, Tejuan, Ddjah, DeVante and Deveion; two sisters, Catherine Shelton (Robert) of Richmond, VA and Frances Douglas of Blackstone, VA; two devoted nieces, Deborah Whitfield of Petersburg, VA and Lizzie Stokes of Blackstone, VA; two supportive cousins, Bazel Fitzgerald of Blackstone, VA and William Dailey of Crewe, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. from Mt. Gazerine Baptist Church, Blackstone, VA with interment in the Foster Family Cemetery, Crewe, VA.
