Obituary for Robert A. Price
Mr. Robert Alphonza Price (Ra-Ra), son of the late Leroy and Hester Fowlkes Price was born March 4, 1953.  He was the 12th of fourteen children, three sisters and five brothers preceded him in death. Robert  answered the call from the death angels on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 3:15 a.m. at Heritage Hall in Blackstone, VA.
At an early age Robert was baptized and joined the Yielding Zion Baptist Church.  He was educated in the Nottoway County Schools.
In 1973 Robert joined the United States Marine Corp and was Honorably discharged in 1977.  After serving his country, he worked at Bassett Veneer Company until it closed.
Robert was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, one who extended a caring hand to those in need.  His pain and suffering are no more—only Eternal Rest.
Robert leaves to mourn his passing: one son, Corey Garnes of Lawrenceville, VA; one daughter, Cynthia Tucker of Crewe, VA; four grandchildren, Tyseana, Kentell, Kevin and Tylik; five sisters, Constance, Mae, Winnie of Crewe, VA, Bessie of Burkeville, VA and Alice (Leroy) of Philadelphia, PA; one aunt, Gracie Jenkins of Baltimore, MD; two devoted nephews, Carl Price and Anthony Gordon; four devoted friends, Willie McCoy of Richmond, VA, James Beverly Jr, and Jerry Norton of Burkeville, VA, Buddy Garnes of New York; and a host of nieces, great nieces, great-great nieces, nephews, great nephews, great-great nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services Friday, February 27, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at Yielding Zion Baptist Church, Burkeville with interment in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia.
