Obituary for Ricky D. Bland
On Tuesday morning, December 11, 2012, our Lord sent an angel to call Ricky Darnell Bland home. He was born December 1, 1962 to Mrs. Frances Bland and the late Isiah Bland.Ricky joined Amelia Baptist Church at an early age. He was a graduate of Amelia County public school. He later moved to New York, then on to New Jersey where he became a deputy of Passaic County.He was blessed with a son, Ricky Bland, Jr. of New Jersey. He later moved back to Amelia to be with his family. Ricky always had a smile and love for his family.Predeceased by his father, Isiah Bland, Ricky leaves to cherish his memory: his mother Frances Bland of Amelia; one son, Ricky Bland, Jr. of New Jersey; one sister Frances Plummer (Anthony) of Amelia, VA; three brothers, Gerald Bland (Martha) of Amelia, VA, Garland Bland (Gail) of Richmond, VA and Robert Bland of North Carolina; one aunt, Beatrice Miller of Amelia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Michael W. Viewing will begin Friday, December 14, 2012 after 12 noon. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Amelia Baptist Church, 617 Sayler Creek Rd., Rice with interment in the church cemetery.
