Richard L. Knight, Jr. was born July 28, 1933 in Lunenburg County, VA and raised by his father, Richard L. Knight, Sr. He was called to be with the Lord on March 7, 2021 at Wellsprings at Amelia Nursing Home.
Richard worked for Boss Construction in Mechanicsville, VA for twenty-five years, until he became disabled. Richard attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church and Union Baptist Church when he was able. He had a passion for fishing, hunting, working on vehicles, raising a garden and yardwork.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret E. Knight of Crewe, VA; his four loving children, Cornelius Scott (Karen) of Lynchburg, VA, Royal Scott (Sarah) of Crewe, VA, Beatrice King (Norman Sr.) of Crewe, VA and Cloris Scott of Richmond, VA; three grandchildren, Kimberely Scott Simon of Greensboro, NC, Kenneth Scott, Jr. of Greensboro, NC and Norming King Jr. of Crewe, VA; his siblings, Charlie Knight (Sandra) of Victoria, VA, Patty Johnson of Charlotte, NC, Mary Ellen of New Jersey and Alice Knight; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside Services Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Rather Family Cemetery, Burkeville.
