Richard was a member of Mt. Pero Baptist Church of Powhatan Virginia where he was baptized at an early age. He was educated in the Powhatan County Public School System..
Richard was employed at Luck Stone Corporation for a number of years, where he was a dedicated employee. He had a passion
for hunting and fishing.
Richard leaves to cherish his memory: two brothers, Timothy Jones (Tim) of Chesterfield, VA and James “Pete” Montague (Etta); an aunt, Vera Gibson (Wilbert) of Amelia, VA; nieces, Angela and Mellissa Montague of Chesterfield, VA; a host of cousin and friends, among them, Cozetta Eggleston, devoted caretaker.
