Obituary for Richard D. Patrick
On Thursday, August 29, 2013 the angels came down quietly and set our beloved father, Papa, Big Papa, brother and uncle free. Richard Daniel Patrick’s soul was taken to an eternal place of rest with our Heavenly Father. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deaconess Bernice Patrick Hill and grandsons, Richard Patrick, Jr., and Daniel Patrick. He was the son of the late Frank Patrick and Rosa Patrick Mason, born on February 3, 1937 in Amelia, VA.
Richard was educated in the public school of Amelia County and at an early age he joined the Union Branch Church. He was employed by many companies and was self employed until his health began to decline.
Richard leaves to cherish his memories: four sons, Richard (Lorraine) of Kentucky, devoted son and daughter-in-law, Linwood (Lelia), Leo (Irene) of Amelia and Terrence of Portland, OR; one loving daughter, Wanda Johnson (Lorenzo) and a son-in-law, Reverend Lorenzo Hill; six sisters, Janice Archer, Jean Dabney (Raymond), Sylvia Patrick, Sheryl Patterson, Daisy Patrick and Reverend Brenda Crowder (Dallas) all of Amelia; three brothers, Joe Andrew (Diane), Samuel of Amelia and William (Jeannette) of Powhatan; seven grandsons, Richard III, Donteri, Tywan Sr., Tyrell Sr., Donte’, Francis, Davion; eight granddaughters, Lashonda, Lashaye one devoted, Dontevia, Brittany, Chyna, Juandara and Natasha; ten great grandchildren, Tywan Jr., Natori, Dreana, Zaiere, Akai, Tyrell Jr., Amir, Keyon, Ta’shaun and Khi’yon; mother of his children, Leverta Patrick; loving caretaker/granddaughter, Latasha; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; one close friend, Phillip Conway.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at  Little Bethel Baptist Church, Amelia with private burial.
