Obituary for Richard 'Butch" Bagley
Richard Bagley affectionately known as (Butch) was born on September 28, 1945 in Blackstone, Virginia . He was the first son born to Mary Louise Bagley & Percy Blackwell.
He was preceded in death by his Mother (Mary), Father (Percy), Brother (Carl), Grandfather (Willie), Grandmother (Mozelle), Auntie (Audrey).

Butch departed his life on Saturday, July 31st at Johnston Willis Hospital, Richmond, Virginia with his loving family by his side.

Richard met his loving wife Dorothy (my boo) and was married on July 28, 1964. To that union one child was born Audrea.

Butch had an infectious personality. He would help anyone in need and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His many passions included working on cars, fishing, cooking, welding was his favorite, repairing anything you brought to him, and he would weld it back together or tell you I done all I can for you, and most of all riding his motorcycle known as Clyde.

Richard served in the Virginia National Guard for 21 years. He retired from Norfolk & Southern Railroad Company in 2005. After retirement Richard became a jack of all trades, you bring it I will fix it.

At an early age he accepted Christ and joined Shiloh Baptist Church. Richard attended Nottoway High School, after graduation he continued his education at the Crewe Vocational Center.

“Butch” leaves to cherish his memories: My Boo Dorothy, his loving wife of 57 years, one daughter, Audrea, Blackstone, Va., Grandson (Meatman) Andre, Virginia Beach, Va., Sister, Betty (Allan) Baltimore, Md., Brother, Amos Bruce, Wilmington, NC., Granddaughter, Chantial (Ron) Richmond, Va., Niece, Valencia Bagley, Tina Bruce, Mia, Baltimore, Md., Sister-in-Law, Barbara (George) Blackstone, VA., nephews Michael, Providence Forge, Va., Dwayne, Austin, Texas, Derrick, Baltimore, Md., great-grands: Matthew, Ja’ire, Ja’lil. One adopted son Jaden, Special Cousins Angie (Lafayette), Raleigh (Peaches), Dennis (Brenda) , very close friends William Bragg, Johnnie Gordon, host of cousins, relatives and friends.

Viewing Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 12 to 7PM. Funeral Services Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia.
