Obituary for Richard A. Beasley, Sr.
Born May 1, 1933 to Joe and Marie Beasley of Dinwiddie County, Richard A. Beasley, 83 returned to heaven in the presence of his devoted and loving wife and family at Southside Regional Hospital in Petersburg, VA on August 31, 2015.
Richard was a life long resident of Dinwiddie County.  He often reference to himself as the “Sheriff of Dinwiddie”, others respected that title.  He was an honest and hardworking man, a man who believed in providing and protecting his devoted wife and family. 
Richard retired from Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company after 27 years of service.  In his retirement he continued to be an excellent example of a husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Marie and a brother Leroy.
Richard leaves to cherish his memory; his devoted, loving and caring wife Dorothy; five children Gloria (Harold) Beasley, Paul (Sarleda) Waller, Kim (Charles) Wilbon, Diane Waller and Richard (Shelly) Beasley; and children he took as his very own, Anthony Williams, Elaine (Jerry) Lucus and Deborah (Lyle) Pelkey; seven grandchildren that called him PaPa as being a father figure of their life and nine great grandchildren; caregivers Gilbert Yates, Heaven Seent and Care Advantage; one brother Clarence (Lucelle) Beasley; one sister Daisy (John) Lewis; five brothers-in-law; six sisters-in-law; devoted friend, Ken Taylor; devoted nephew Clarence Beasley, Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at William N. Bland and Son Funeral Home Chapel, 137 Harrison St., Petersburg, with interment to follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.

W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home of Blackstone in charge of arrangements.

Funeral Services Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at William N. Bland and Son Funeral Home Chapel, 137 Harrison St., Petersburg, with interment to follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.
