Rex Ennios Henderson, son of the late Fred and Jenny Mable Henderson was born November 2, 1956, and was called home on October 28, 2023. He was the youngest son of seven children.
He was a graduate from Amelia County High School in 1975. Rex was a stellar football player in school. Immediately after finishing school, Rex served in the Army from 1975-1981. Returning from serving his time in the Army, he was employed with Anderson Brothers Lumber Company. It was in 1983 that Rex would meet Linda, the love of his life.
Rex continued his employment with Anderson Brothers Lumber Company for 20 years. He moved on to work for Chesterfield County Public Schools. He worked for James River High School for 15 years as a facility coordinator & was forced to retire in 2009 due to health issues. Rex was very loved, respected, and devoted to James River High School. The students and staff during his time their loved Rex indefinitely & supported him in so many ways.
Rex was always a hard worker. He never minded lending a helping hand. He didn’t mind teaching anyone on how to do handy work. He was a jack of all trades. Rex’s favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing. During hunting season, if Rex had his good health and strength, he would not miss a day of hunting. He enjoyed spending time with his sons, brothers, nephews, & friends after a long day of hunting. When the weather was right, Rex loved fishing. Rex started an extension collection of deer and fish mounted to show his accomplishments as a hunter and fisherman. Rex was a strong man and never let his health defeat him. When he wasn’t feeling his best to his main hobbies, Rex loved to play cards with his brothers, children, and friends & scratch his lottery tickets. Rex was a strong man, a true definition of a man, and he will be sorely missed by so many.
Rex was proceeded in death by his parents, Fred and Jenny Mable Henderson, brother Maverick Henderson, & sister Delores Henderson-Obi.
