Obituary for Reverend Annie T. Johnson
Reverend Annie T. Johnson departed this life on Tuesday, March 19, 2013. Daughter of the late Ples and Minnie Tuck, she was born December 7, 1938 in Goodwater, Alabama.
She attended the public schools and graduated from Cottage Grove High School in Goodwater, AL. She journeyed to Manhattan, NY and remained there until she returned to Virginia in 1972. After returning to Virginia, she joined the Good Hope Baptist Church in Jetersville, VA. She attended Sunday School and served as secretary and treasurer.
She is the wife or Deacon James G. Johnson and the proud parents of four children, Angela, Michael, Arthur and Debra.
She attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA and received a degree in Biblical Studies. She continued her education in Ministry by attending Faith International Bible College in Richmond, VA and received a degree in Ministry. She also received a certificate through the LHBI Biblical Studies from Liberty University. She studied “Women Who Wants God’s Ministry” under the leadership of Reverend Pearl Carey.
She was licensed to preach the Gospel by the Good Hope Baptist Church in 2002. She was actively serving as the Associate Minister of the Good Hope Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Viola Zackery and Carrie Philips, and two brothers, Robert and Stewart Tuck.
Reverend Johnson leaves to cherish precious memories: her devoted husband, Deacon James G. Johnson of the home; four children, Angela (Derrick) Lewis of Fairburn, GA, Debra (Leon) Washington of Prospect, VA, Michael Tuck of Richmond, VA and Arthur Tuck of Lynchburg, VA; six grandchildren, Michael Harris of Jonesboro, GA, Paula (Stephen) Martin of Duluth, GA, Iesha Washington of Hampton, VA, Mesha Washington of Prospect, VA, Michael Scott of Decatur, GA and Chelsey Tuck of Richmond, VA; five great grandchildren, Serenity Martin, Samara Martin, Soteria Martin and Stephen M. Martin, Jr., all of Duluth, GA and Jayda Harris of Miami, FL; sisters and brothers-in-law, Maizie (William) Holmes of Crewe, VA, Sandria Johnson of Dover, DE, Joseph (Pansy) Johnson of Crewe, VA and Harold (Juiett) Johnson of Crewe, VA; other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 25, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at Good Hope Baptist Church, Jetersville with interment in the church cemetery.
