Obituary for Reginald L. Craft
Deacon Reginald L. Craft  was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 21, 2013 at his residence in Burkeville, VA.  Reginald was born on August 16, 1957 in Amelia County to Martha C. Robertson and the late Lloyd W. Craft, Sr.
Reggie confessed his love for the Lord at an early age and was baptized and joined the Good Hope Baptist Church in Amelia, VA.
He joined the United States Army in 1976, where he served his country faithfully for fifteen years.  While in the Army he was promoted to Staff Sergeant.  Reggie also serve in Operation Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia.  After his military stay, he and his wife returned home in 1992, where he rededicated his life to God.  He later moved his membership from Good Hope Baptist Church to Gravel Hill Baptist Church to be with his wife and children.  Reggie loved the Lord with all his heart, and his faith was unmovable.  He was truly a man after God’s own heart.  Reggie always had an encouraging and uplifting word for whomever he talked to.
He was a man who loved his family with all his heart, and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for his family.  He also loved his church family as well and his Southside Electric Family, and the love was returned to him.
On July 2, 1998, he was joined in holy matrimony to the love of his life Edith Booker and to this union they were blessed with three children.  Reggie also had an older son and daughter from previous relationships.
He leaves to cherish precious memories:  a loving, devoted and caring wife of 25 years, Edith of Burkeville; sons, Reginald Jr. of Missouri and Regis of Burkeville; daughters, Regina of Amelia, Shante’ and Riana of Burkeville; mother, Martha Robertson and step-father, Paul Robertson of Jetersville, VA; one brother, Lloyd “Penny” Craft of Chesterfield, VA; five sisters, Shirley (Johnny) Charkley of Farmville, VA, Loretta (Danny) Parrish of Crewe, VA, Charlene (Freddie) Booker of Burkeville, Elaine (Judson) Jefferson of Jetersville and Anissa King of Amelia, VA; one aunt, Frances Craft of Amelia, VA; one uncle, Bill Drew of New York; seven grandkids; a host of wonderful nieces and nephews; a devoted niece-in-law, Nikki; sister-in-law, Rosalean Booker; brothers-in-law, Charles (Vernita) Booker of New York, James (Rosetta) Booker of Burkeville, VA and Willie Booker Jr. of Burkeville; two devoted friends of many years, Robert Blackwell and Micheal Hill; and a host of caring cousins, friends and neighbors.
