Obituary for Rayzelle E. Watson
Rayzelle Evans Watson was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at her Daughter’s home in Midlothian, VA surrounded by her loving Family. She was preceded in death by her father, Clifton Evans Sr., her mother, Bernell Evans, her oldest daughter, Bernell Copes and her brother, Clifton Evans Jr.
Rayzelle was born to the union of the late Clifton Sr. and Bernell Evans in Blackstone, Virginia on November 14, 1945. She attended public schools in Nottoway County. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and attended Mt. Nebo Baptist Church where she sang on the choir as a youngster and later served on the Senior Usher Board until she relocated to Richmond in 1983. She worshipped regularly at Second Baptist and served on the Senior Usher Board until she became ill in December of last year.
She was united in Holy Matrimony with the love of her life Robert Watson for 49 years.
She also leaves to cherish her memory two daughters Delores (Willie) and Denise (Jonathan); three grandchildren Crystal Copes, Andre Baskin and Kyra Galloway; one great-grandchild Desmond Copes; mother-in-law Lucille Watson, two brothers Melvin (Clara), Freddie (Esther); two sisters Ivornell Jones and Elsie Yates (James); two brothers-in-law Mahlon Jr. (Christine) and William; four sisters-in-law Mary, (Clifton Jr.-deceased), Carolyn Stewart, Dorothy Merritt (Franklin Sr.-deceased) and Bernice Vaughan (Kenneth); four Aunts: Ruby Gibson, Florence Hawkes, Thelma Walker and Marion Friend (William), one godson Rodney Thompson, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was also blessed to have wonderful neighbors Leroy and Evelyn King, Donald and Eloise Pierce, Marjorie Wallace and Leon Mabry for 23 years and her best friend, Dorothy Smith.
Funeral Services Friday, August 17, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at Second Baptist Church, 3300 Broad Rock Rd., Richmond, VA.  Interment Saturday, August 18, 2012 in the Crewe Cemetery, Crewe.
