Obituary for Raymond Sr. White
RAYMOND WHITE, SR., affectionately known as “Teddy” was born November 24, 1930 to Mildred White-Woolridge and Charlie Woolridge and was called to rest on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at the Amelia Nursing and Rehab Center.
He received his education in the Amelia County school system. He joined the Promise Land Baptist Church at an early age. He served on the Trustee and Usher Board.
Raymond served in the United States Army from 1949 until 1951 and the National Reserves from 1951 until 1953 and was Honorably Discharged.
He was predeceased by his parents, Mildred White-Woolridge and Charlie Woolridge; two sons, Michael A. White and Kelly Person; and three sisters, Mildred Booker, Annabel Taylor and Frances “LuLu” Lee.
He leaves to mourn: his loving wife of 54 years, Shirley B. White; two daughters, Mildred Royal of Irvington, NJ and Deleah Petty (Orlando) of Amelia, VA; six sons, George White (Mary) of Crewe, VA, Ronald White (Sandra) of Orange, NJ, Raymond White, Jr. (Rachel) of Jetersville, VA, Sharone White of Richmond, VA, Maurice White (Shenae) of Crewe, VA and Jefferson White (Terri) of Newark, NJ. Also left to mourn are forty grandchildren; thirty seven great grandchildren; five sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law, Victoria Archer, Dorothy Robinson (Roosevelt), Vernell Royal (Elwood Sr.) of Amelia, VA, Beatrice Alston of Orange, NJ, Richard Robinson (Marian), Fleming “Billy Lee” Lee of Amelia; a loving and devoted caregiver, Shenae Lynch and the staff of the Amelia Nursing & Rehab Center along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at Promise Land Baptist Church, Amelia with interment in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery, Amelia.
