Obituary for Rachel T. Lewis
Rachel Tucker-Lewis was born September 22, 1947 in Nottoway County to John Lincoln and Beatrice Tucker. She departed this life on Monday, March 7, 2022.
Rachel attended Luther H. Foster High School. At an early age she joined Springhill Baptist Church and remained a member where she was a member of the choir, the Pastor’s Aide Ministry and the Missionary Ministry.
Rachel was employed as a healthcare provider for over twenty-five years at the Commonwealth of Virginia Powhatan Correctional Facility. She loved to cook, bake and travel.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, John Lincoln Tucker, Sr. and Beatrice Tucker; a brother, Robert Tucker; two sisters, Geraldine Pritchett and Rosie Hawkes. She leaves to cherish her memories: a son, Quincy Tucker Sr. (Tara) of Marietta, GA; a daughter, Pamela D. Lewis of Raleigh, NC; a special niece, Delfond Tucker of Burlington, NC; eight grandchildren, Jovan Tucker, Adryane Tucker, Jalen Lewis, Quincy Tucker II, Azadeia Lewis, DaVyon Lewis, Terrell Porter and Chelsea Randall; great grandchild, DJ Gaines; two brothers, John Lincoln Tucker Jr. and Rudolph Tucker (Tyran); one sister Pattie Vaughter (Charles); two special great nephews Deryon Woodley and James Newton IV; one uncle, Portress Hardy of New Jersey; one cousin, Jessie Maddox of Blackstone, VA; five special friends of over thirty years, Lula, Lelia, Caroleen, Evan and Ellen; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
