Peter Nathaniel Eppes was born on June 11, 1924 and departed this life obn November 12, 2008. He was born in Nottoway Ciounty to the late Richard and Nona Watkins Eppes. Peter was preceded in death by Martha Johnson, his significant other of over fifty years.
Peter attended school for a short period of time in Nottoway County. He was a hard worker at Sheffield Furniture. His hard work did not stop there, for he was a person that was willing to help anyone. He was a loving, caring and great brother, grandfather and uncle.
he leaves to cherish his memory:Â his siter, Virginia Smith of Lynchburg, VA; a brother, Oscar (Frances) Watkins of Wallace, NC; two grandchildren, Katherine Eppes of Durham, NC and William Johnson of Richmond, VA; nine great grandchildren, Annette, Alice, Lewis, Leonard and Dwayne, all of Blackstone, VA, Kim of Amelia, VA, Tracey of Richmond, VA, Keitra and Kayla of Durham, NC; nineteen great-great grandchildren and four great great-great grandchildren; a devoted granddaughter, Annette Johnson; two devoted nephews, james (Red) and Michael Gregory; a devoted niece, Mary Gregory; a devoted friend, Tyrone Tucker; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relaltives and friends.
Funeral Services Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at New Poplar Mount Baptist Church, Crewe, VA with interment in the Greenview Cemetery, Blackstone.
