Obituary for Pauline W. Jefferson
Missionary Pauline W. Jefferson departed this life on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Retreat Hospital in Richmond, VA. Daughter of the late Maggie Harris, she was born August 31, 1931 in Nottoway County.
Pauline was educated in the Lunenburg County School System. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Oak Grove Baptist Church. Later in life she joined Commandment Apostolic Worship Center in Blackstone, where she served on the Pastors Aide Committee and the Hospitality Committee. She also attended Sunday School, was a Missionary and Mother of the Church. Pauline loved her church family and was always giving a helping hand in her community, whatever the need.
Pauline was known to express her feelings on any matter that concerned her community, this lead her to serve on The Alzheimers of Virginia Board, where she served for several years.
Pauline married Joseph L. Jefferson and to this union two children were born, Joseph A. Jefferson, Sr, and Catherine A. Jefferson.
Pauline was employed at Mercury Cleaners until they closed, after which she worked at Heritage Hall Nursing Home.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Jefferson and her son, Joseph A. Jefferson, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory: a loving and devoted daughter, Catherine “Kitty” Jefferson, who has been her caregiver for the last ten years; a devoted daughter-in-law, Gale Jefferson; two grandchildren, Janeska and Joseph “JoJo” Jefferson; one great grandson Kaden Smith Jefferson; a brother-in-law, Otis Jefferson (Dorothy); a godchild, James Wynn; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a loving caregiver, Vernette Lawson and her church family, Pastor Leroy Coles and Pentecostal Church of God in Christ.
Funeral Services Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Commandment Apostolic Worship Center, Blackstone. Interment Cedar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Blackstone.
