Obituary for Pauline Gertrude Edmonds
Mrs. Pauline G. Edmonds, daughter of the late John and Nannie Johnson was born on April 1, 1925 in Brunswick County, VA. She departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 5, 2007.Pauline accepted the Lord as her Savior at an early age and was baptized at the Little Mount Baptist Church. Back in those days, reading was limited among her peers, and she always talked about how she would read the Sunday School lesson for her class and play the piano.Pauline was educated in the Brunswick County Public School System. After completing school, she met and married the late Frank Edmonds, Sr. from Blackstone, VA. From this union came four children, Mary Ann, Russell, John and Frank.Pauline worked several jobs and retired form Heritage Hall Nursing Home, a job that she loved very much.In 2003, as her health began to fail, she moved to Baltimore, MD to reside with her daughter, Mary Ann and her family. in November, 2007 Pauline was moved to the Genesis Manor Care Nursing Home for short term rehabilitation after a surgical procedure; where she later died.She leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, Mary Ann Burston of Baltimore, MD; three sons, Russell Edmonds of Washington, DC, John Edmonds of Baltimore, MD and Frank Edmonds of Philadelphia, PA; a devoted son-in-law, Reverend Claveron Burston, Sr.; two daughters-in-law, Ethel Mae and Lillie; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 12:00 noon from Little Mount Baptist Church, Blackstone with interment in the church cemetery.W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
