Obituary for Pauline G. Holliday
Pauline Holliday passed this life on September 22, 2009 at the age of 67 from a lengthy illness. Pauline was born in Blackstone, VA on February 2, 1942 to her late parents, Hampton and Gracie Green.
Pauline lived in the Maryland area for over 30 years, prior to relocating to Ayden, NC. She was a successful Accountant and operated numerous small businesses.
She was an active member of Saint Mary Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville, NC, and Central Baptist Church in Washington, DC, before her illness.
Pauline was known affectionately by her family members as “Bean”. And will always be remembered for her trademark smile and outgoing personality. Her daughter says, “She was the sweetest person I’ve ever known.”
She is survived by her husband Jesse, daughter, Gigi, son-in-law, Barry, and four grandchildren, Brittany, Chace, Tempestt and Steven. She is further survived by two step-daughters, Karen and Marsha and their families, 4 brothers; Clarence Green, Jr. of Richmond, VA, Karl Green Sr. of Blackstone, VA, Larry Green of Hampton, VA and Henry Green of Newport, News, VA and 5 sisters; Annie Lucille Jones of Blackstone, VA, Thelma Purcell of Baltimore, MD, Ruth Campbell of Clinton, MD, Joyce Green of Washington, DC and Cordelia Green of Suitland, MD, a special niece who was like a daughter to her, Kim Craig and her children James and Kayri, a God-daughter, Chanell Massenburg, a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
Funeral Services Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Springhill Baptist Church, Blackstone with interment in the church cemetery.
