Obituary for Pattie B. Woodard
Pattie Elizabeth Bragg Woodard, age 65 of Amelia Court House, VA was born August 3, 1951. She was the second of eleven children born to the late Javen S. and Nannie Mae Davis Bragg. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ella Mae Bragg and Brenda Lee Bragg and a brother, Minister Anthony Jerome Bragg, Sr.
At an early age, Pattie was baptized and joined Good Hope Baptist Church. She was educated in the Amelia County Public School System and graduated from Russell Grove High School. Pattie received her post education at Johnson C. Smith University, Charlotte, NC and earned a Bachelors and Master Degrees, graduating at the top of both classes. After graduating from Johnson C. Smith University, she worked for the city of Charlotte for several years. It was in Charlotte that she met and married the love of her life, Ike Woodard. To this union was born their only child, Dedrick I. Woodard.
Pattie enjoyed reading, gardening and decorating. She loved her son with all her heart. She never missed a practice, game, or event in Dedrick's life, she was his biggest fan. Her passion and love for her family were evident each and everyday of her life.
Pattie entered eternal rest on Monday, January 30, 2017. She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory: her devoted and supportive husband, Ike Woodard; loving and devoted son, Dedrick (Kim) Woodard; one granddaughter, Charlotte Woodard; brothers, John, Javen, William, Claven and Benjamin (Patricia) Bragg; sisters, Mary (Gary) Goodson and Gertrude (Jerry) Green; other relatives and friends.
Graveside Services were held Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Good Hope Baptist Church, Amelia.
