Patricia Lynette Jefferson (68) of Amelia, Virginia, transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Monday, October 23, 2023, after a brief stay at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Patricia (Jones) Jefferson, daughter of the late Frank and Naomi Jones, was born on March 2, 1955, in Powhatan, Virginia. Graduating from Powhatan High School, Patricia entered the workforce at a young age. Patricia enjoyed various occupations in her early years, however she was passionate about painting and a wonderful artist. Displaying natural talent from an early age, Patricia could paint a masterpiece on a canvas or paint a house with equal amounts of creativity and ease. She enjoyed painting with her husband, Curtis, before her health declined. Curtis would often note that she had a professional touch with every project. However, her greatest masterpiece was her family, which she was devoted to and proud of.
Patricia knew the Lord from an early age and continued to share her faith throughout the years. Patricia would often remind her family through good times and bad times to continue to have faith and trust in God. Patricia displayed her faith in God as she battled various health conditions, while continuing to stay positive, making jokes, constantly keeping the nursing and medical staff smiling, and continued to display strength for her family.
Patricia loved flowers, painting, old westerns, and any movie with Sylvester Stallone (but mainly Rambo). Patricia enjoyed making people laugh. But most importantly, Patricia loved spending time with her family.
Preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Naomi Jones, and by her brother Frank “June” Jones, Patricia is survived by her husband of 39 years, Curtis Jefferson and their loving children Charles Jeter, Angela Epps-Thomas (James), April Jefferson (Thomas III, “T.J.”), Karen Hill (Carlton, Sr. “Bubbie”), Darrell Jones (Yamara); along with 20 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Wallace Jones (Rose) and Marvin Howell (Mary Ann), both of Powhatan, VA; sisters Denise Hire (Kenneth) of Petersburg, VA and Gloria Brown (Alvin) of Henrico, VA; four brother-in-laws, Samuel Jefferson, Kenneth Jefferson, Central Jefferson (Shirley), and Larry Jefferson (Sandra); sister-inlaw, Sharon Henderson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Special love and gratitude are extended to Da’Rell Owens who was like a son to Patricia and to her devoted cousins Althea Brown, Darlene Morris (Michael), and Calvin Rudd for their many years of love, care, and support.
There were so many others as well, who have shown their love and support throughout the years, that stopped by the house to share a laugh and helped to bring a smile to her face, and that held a special place in her heart. Please know, we love and appreciate you all.
With grateful hearts, the family thanks everyone for their love and prayers extended during this most difficult time. We will continue to keep the faith, keep trusting God, continue to celebrate her life, and continue to stay strong. Please continue to keep us all in your thoughts and prayers.
The service is private, immediate family only. A memorial service will be planned for a later date and time.
Thank you for respecting our privacy.
